今シリーズの見どころの一つでありました
「横歩取り」を戦型に、最先端の研究将棋を見事に制し
番勝負３勝目（１敗）を飾り、棋王戦４連覇を達成しました。
最後は両者ともに１分将棋に突入。
先に時間を使い切った佐藤八段は正確に先手玉に食らいつき
最後の最後まで粘りの利いた大熱戦を演じましたが、しかし
渡辺棋王の大局観はその上を行っていた印象が残りました。。
Ａ級順位戦では遅れをとった渡辺棋王が
今回の番勝負では兄貴分の貫禄を存分にみせつけた格好で
「永世竜王」に続く２つ目の永世称号「永世棋王」獲得へ
マジックは「１」に。。
本筋重視の正統派で本質的には受け将棋の
渡辺棋王はタイトル戦の番勝負でこそ、その真価を発揮し
一度、載冠すると防衛が長く続くのが必然の特徴となっています。
