プロ棋士代表の佐藤天彦名人と
将棋ソフト代表「ＰＯＮＡＮＺＡ」（山本一成氏開発）が
二番勝負で雌雄を決する第２期電王戦二番勝負。
４月１日に行なわれた第１局を
「ＰＯＮＡＮＺＡ」が手合い違いを思わせるド圧勝で飾り
迎えた最終戦/第２局が明日、姫路城にて行なわれます。
本格的なＡＩ時代到来に先駆けて
女流棋士（清水市代女流六段）、元棋士（米長邦雄永世棋聖）
そしてＡ級棋士を含む団体戦とハードルを上げつつ対局を重ねた
プロ棋士ｖｓ将棋ソフトの「電王戦シリーズ」は大好評を博すも
ソフトの圧倒的な進化の前に、もはや勝敗的な興味を担保出来ず
明日の対局を持って、その歴史に幕が下されます。。
昨年から叡王戦優勝者をプロ棋士代表に
将棋電王トーナメントの優勝ソフトを将棋ソフト代表として
１対１で二番勝負を行なう形式となりましたが、第１回大会は
「ＰＯＮＡＮＺＡ」が、山崎隆之八段（叡王）を一方的に下し
圧巻の２連勝で見事、初代電王に輝きました。
連覇を目指す今期の第２回大会も開幕戦を圧勝でものにし
明日の第２局もよほどのことがない限りはまず、勝利は揺るがず
２連覇が濃厚とみられます。。
第１局から1ヶ月半が経過しましたが
その間に、佐藤名人は初防衛を目指す第７５期名人戦７番勝負が開幕。
ここまで４局を消化し、ともに譲らず２勝２敗と熱戦を展開中。。
一方の「ＰＯＮＡＮＺＡ」もゴールデンウィークに
将棋ソフト界最大の祭典である世界コンピュータ選手権に出場。
完全無欠の大本命として大会３連覇を目指しましたが、しかし
伏兵の「elmo」（瀧澤誠氏開発）前に、まさかの２連敗を喫し
初出場初優勝をさらわれ、２位に甘んじる波乱の結果に。。
しかし、ここ数年は無敵の存在であった「ＰＯＮＡＮＺＡ」が
負けることによって逆に将棋ソフトの進化の早さと懐の深さを
実感することができ、逆に大いに評価と関心が高まる結果にも。。
正直、名人戦が盛り上がってきた真っ最中に
別世界の話である将棋ソフトと対戦する佐藤名人には気の毒な
明日の対局にも思いますが、そこは名人としての誇りとともに
第一人者の宿命と割り切って、全力の将棋を披露して欲しいと
願わずにはいられません。。
