将棋界に春の訪れを告げます、歴史と伝統の名人戦が
開幕戦の舞台としてすっかり定着した「ホテル椿山荘東京」にて
第１局目の幕を開きます。。
いや～ワクワクします。
前夜祭の画像をみるかぎり
両者ともに気負いを感じさせない普段通りの佇まい。
その分、事前の研究や調整に自信のほどをうかがわせます。
特に番勝負では感情の起伏や心の内が以前は表情にはっきりと
見て取れた羽生名人ですが、最近はシリーズの中盤以降に照準を合わせ
徐々に調子を上げていくスタイルをとっているので、今回も開幕前夜は
リラックスムード。穏かな表情の中に心の内を隠します。
また、以前は相手の注文を何でもかんでも受けて立ち
模様の歪んだ終盤のねじり合いをむしろ楽しむところもありましたが
最近は自らが注文を出し、序盤から慎重に駆け引きを繰り広げて
わずかな利や違いを求めるのも、羽生名人のスタイルに。
それは多分に、第６９期（2011年度）から第７２期（1４年度）まで
４年連続で名人の座を争った永遠のライバル・森内俊之九段から受けた
戦略的影響も大きいように思います。
７番勝負なら３つ負けても４つ勝てばいい。
そのかわり、３つの黒星を意味のある負け、次につながる負けにする。
入念な事前準備のもと、一つの戦型に２つの作戦を持って番勝負に臨む
森内九段の前に羽生名人は名人戦３連敗の屈辱にまみれます。
しかし、年齢的にも、また研究将棋が全盛の現代の将棋界においても
相手の得意を受けながら４連勝を目指す、１つ負けたら４勝１敗を目指す
という真っ直ぐかつ尖がったスタイルでは、いかに羽生名人といえども
さすがに苦しく先が見えた中で、森内九段のスタイルを自らのものとしたのは
トップとしての寿命を延ばす、大きな転機となったように感じます。
「今日は何にしようかな？」
昼にうどんを食べるか、いやそばにするかを決めるような
気軽な戦型選択はもう通用しない時代となり、羽生名人でさえも
水面化で相当に相手を研究し、戦略を立ててタイトル戦に臨んでいる。
今回の相手は
研究将棋の代名詞である「横歩取り」のエキスパート・佐藤八段。
この若き精鋭を羽生名人がどのような戦略、そして戦術を用いて攻略し
虎の子のタイトルを守るのか。。
興味がつきない名人戦。。いよいよです。
