将棋のプロ棋士養成機関「奨励会」の対局が１８日、大阪市の関西将棋会館で行われ、藤井聡太二段が１局目に勝ち、直近の成績が規定を満たす１４勝５敗となり、最年少の１３歳２カ月で奨励会最高段位の三段に昇段した。
日本将棋連盟によると、これまでの記録は佐々木勇気五段（２１）の１３歳８カ月。
藤井新三段は愛知県瀬戸市在住の中学１年生。杉本昌隆七段門下で、２０１２年に奨励会に入会した。今後は来春から始まる三段リーグに参加し、プロ棋士を目指す。
いよいよ噂の神童・藤井聡太奨励会二段が三段に昇段。
来春よりプロ棋士への最終関門・三段リーグ参戦が決定しました。
加藤一二三九段、谷川浩司九段、羽生善治名人
そして渡辺明棋王に続く史上５人目の中学生棋士誕生なるか。。
