神童・藤井聡太四段の出現に呼応して
同じく奨励会の頃より将来を嘱望されてきた超逸材
佐々木勇気五段、増田康宏四段もその才能と個性を
いよいよ発揮し始め、本当の意味での新時代到来を
否応無しに予感させる現在の将棋界。
その流れの中で、世代交代を象徴するかのように
永世名人・森内俊之九段がフリークラス転出を表明した
今期の「羽生世代」は一様に苦戦を強いられる序盤戦に。。
とりわけ
三浦弘行九段に対する冤罪事件の責任を取り辞任した
谷川浩司九段の後を引き継ぎ、日本将棋連盟会長に就任し
盟友・森内九段（現・専務理事）とともに信頼回復を目指す
佐藤九段は現在、公式戦６連敗中と元気がありません。。
７月に入ってからは
竜王戦決勝トーナメント、そしてＡ級/２回戦と大きな舞台で
立て続けに黒星を喫し、竜王戦敗退とＡ級連敗スタートが決定。。
辛い結果は夏の陣に向けて、見守るファンに大きな不安を残します。
前期も開幕から連敗につぐ連敗で大きく黒星が先行しましたが
年明けから急激に復調し、怒涛の９連勝でシーズンを締めくくり
ＮＨＫ杯優勝という結果も残した佐藤九段ですが、果たして今期も
神通力は健在で、驚異的な巻き返しを拝むことが出来るのか。。
まずは何と言っても
ここ数年の間に藤井猛九段、丸山忠久九段、郷田真隆九段、そして
森内九段が姿を消したＡ級順位戦での戦いが今後の命運を握るのは
明らかであり、次戦に予定される今月２８日（金）のＡ級/３回戦
広瀬章人八段戦が大きな正念場となる佐藤九段。。
何とか踏ん張って欲しいと願わずにはいられませんが。。
歴史の転換点で、一時代を築いた名棋士・佐藤九段の戦いから
いろいろな意味で目が離せません。。
